Lifeskills Residences
Operation Springboard has two homes for men 16
years and older with developmental disabilities, Frank Drea
House and North Beaches Residence.
 |
Funded by the Ministry of Community and Social
Services, both programs are voluntary. The main objective of each
program is to assist the individual in developing their base of
knowledge, experiences and daily living skills in order to enhance
their independence in the community. Residents may have been involved
or are at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system. |
The emphasis in each house is on ongoing skill
development. Residents receive both group and one-on-one support.
Programming is client-centred and staff at each location, led by
case managers, work with the individual in the development and implementation
of an individualized program.
|
Programming at Frank Drea House and North
Beaches Residence includes:
- Personal hygiene
- Budgeting
- Health and wellness
- Employment / vocational training
- Education
- Recreation and leisure
- One-on-one counselling
- Nutrition and meal planning
- Extended care

Community involvement is a key component of the
residential programs. Individuals in the programs volunteer at local
food banks and other community community organizations. Strong partnerships
with community members, organizations and businesses are key to
the success of each unique home.
